Pine goes 1-1 in games against Albany, Pearl River

Pine’s girls basketball team posted a 1-1 record in games against Albany and Pearl River that were held on Friday and Monday.

On Friday, Pine was defeated by 2022 state semifinalist Albany, 59-29, on the road in a District 7-3A contest.

Dillon Sumrall led Pine with 10 points.

Addyson Phelps recorded nine

Kori Sumrall and Madison Morgan both had four.

Alyssa Phelps put up two.

On Monday, Pine was victorious over Pearl River, 61-21, in a non-district contest at home.

Ten players had points for Pine, led by Alyssa Phelps’ 15. Phelps made three 3-pointers.

Samantha Thomas recorded 13.

Dillon Sumrall tallied nine.

Addyson Phelps posted seven.

Ana Kate Thomas posted six on two 3-pointers.

Maggie Lyons had three on a 3-pointer.

Bailey Brooks, Kori Sumrall, Morgan and Jalayia Lee all had two.

Pine’s next game will be on Feb. 7 against Jewel Sumner at home.
