David Robert Kenny, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve, La. He was born on May 1, 1947, in Carrollton, Ga., a resident of Bogalusa and a member of Main Street Baptist Church. David was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy from June, 1967 until March, 1971 and in the United States Army from May 1987 until December, 1989.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post #24.

David is survived by a son, Robert Kenny of Bogalusa, La.; three granddaughters, Natalee Kenny, affectionately known to him as “Nat”, Kayla Thomas, and Emily Carpenter of Pine, La.; a great-granddaughter, Anniston Thomas; and two great grandsons, Ryan Thomas and Asher Thomas of Pine, La.; a brother, Billy (Shirley) Kenny of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers-in-law Lavon (Carol) Carrier of Franklinton, La., Allen (Charlene) Little of Baton Rouge, La., and Greg (Denise) Mitchell of Mandeville, La. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.

David was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Roberta Ann Carrier Kenny; his parents, Bob and Marie Badinger; a brother, Roy Morris; his in laws, Myrle and Beatrice Carrier; three sisters in law, Ouida Harris, Beverly Little, and Paula Mitchell; and two brothers in law, Samuel “Butch” Harris and Milton Earl Carrier.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Main Street Baptist Church.
