Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Robert James Blake was born on Sept. 21, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif. and passed peacefully from this life on Jan. 26, 2023, at his home in Covington, La., surrounded by his loving attentive wife Joan. Robert spent many joyful months as a child in Varnado, La. with his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. There he lived a young life filled with love and laughter.

He was a kind, gregarious, adventurous man who loved to travel and was often described “as the person who did all the things others wanted to do but never ventured or got around to doing”.

He traveled extensively throughout Europe and lived in France for over 30 years where he was the developer and owner of Language Services, a software company. He had an analytical mind who loved to read and work on the latest investment strategies.

Sailing and learning to play the trumpet was an endeavor Robert sought to accomplish.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan and his sister, Carolyn Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Griffin and Ann.

Family and friends are invited to Robert’s graveside service which will be held Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Seal Cemetery in Varnado, La.
