Stabbing happened in Bogalusa

According to a Facebook Post by the Bogalusa Police Department, on Monday January 30, 2023, around 2:15 in the afternoon, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Mercedes Street in reference to a victim that had been stabbed. The post says that upon arrival, officers discovered that a female had been stabbed, and another female had been cut badly. The post says that officers called for immediate medical assistance, and gave assistance to the victims while waiting for EMS. Officers learned from the victims, that the perpetrator forced his way into the house and attacked both female victims, the post says. The perpetrator was identified as 25 year old Anthony Stevenson, a native of Liberty Mississippi, the post says. The post says that the females were treated at the local Hospital for their injuries.
The post says that police attempted to locate Stevenson in the area, but officers were unable to locate him. The post says that warrants were sought and obtained for Stevenson on the charges of Home Invasion, Attempted Second Degree Murder and Second Degree Battery, as well as Domestic Abuse Battery involving Child Endangerment.
The post was updated saying that On January 31, 2023, Anthony Stevenson turned himself in on outstanding active warrants. The post says that Stevenson was booked into the city jail, and will await a transfer to the Parish Jail pending a bond hearing.
The post says that BPD administration commends Capt. Johnson’s shift and the CID Division for their fast response, and hard work in the apprehension of Stevenson.
