Rev. Kennedy will speak at Briarwood Baptist Church’s when 50th anniversary is observed

Founding pastor, the Rev. Jerry Kennedy, will be the speaker at Briarwood Baptist Church when the 50th anniversary of the church is observed on Sunday, Jan. 29. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m., preceded by Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.

Following the service, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall. After lunch, the regular fifth Sunday singing will be held.

The church was organized in 1972 when God’s people in Stateline had a vision for a Southern Baptist church in the community. The first service was held on Jan. 28, 1973 in the old Tyne’s store, followed by the construction of a church building. The first service in the new building was on Dec. 23, 1973 all within one year.

Briarwood has continued to serve the community over the years and has seen a progression of fine members and pastors. Current pastor is the Rev. Eddie Henson, who along with church members invites the public to attend this event, with special invitations to surviving charter members and former members.

ESM United Methodist Church

ESM United Methodist Church invites everyone to join us for the following activities.  

Sunday Activities: Sunday School for all ages begins at 9 a.m. followed by Worship Service at 10 a.m. Youth meet at 5:30 p.m.  

UMW Sunday is Sunday, Jan. 22. Courtney Murphy from the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home will be our guest speaker. Please join us for this special event.

The next regular meeting for UMW is Thursday, Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. All ladies are invited to join us for refreshments followed by the monthly meeting in the Fellowship Hall.

The next Board Meeting will be Monday, Feb. 13 at 5:15 p.m.  in the Fellowship Hall.

Breakfast with UMM will be Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 a.m. All men are invited to join this time of great food and fellowship in the Family Life Center.

Truong to speak at St. Paul African Methodist Church

The St. Paul African Methodist Church family cordially invites the public to attend their Black History Program on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.

The church is pleased to announce their guest speaker will be Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong.

They anticipate an exuberant celebration and hope that the public will join them in this spiritual fellowship.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church

Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 64115 Jones Creek Road in Varnado, is currently seeking an experienced full time or part time musician. The church’s worship service begins at 11 a.m. every Sunday. The Church of God of Prophecy

Annunciation Catholic Church

Annunciation Catholic Church will be praying the Rosary every Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the church. Prior to the recitation of the Rosary, the group will also pray the beautiful Divine Mercy Chaplet. As noted, these prayers will be held in the church, and not the chapel as in the past. Everyone is invited to come and pray the Rosary for peace in the world and for personal intentions.

Holy Angels Anglican Catholic Church

Many of us still long for the old-fashioned Christmas services of our youths – held at midnight on Christmas eve and timed so that we receive Holy Communion just after midnight. We still remember the old service of the Mass, in which the worship was conducted “ad orientum”. with the Altar against the east wall and the service said by the Priest facing the altar, leading the congregation in worship.

If you remember, and would like to experience that kind of traditional worship again, we invite you to come visit us at Holy Angels Anglican Catholic Church, located at 1811 East Canal Street in Picayune, Miss. Here, we still celebrate the Holy Eucharist in the traditional fashion with the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.

Holy Angels is a parish of the Diocese of New Orleans in the Anglican Catholic Church. We are devoutly orthodox in worship, holding fast to the worship as it was handed down to the Apostles and down through the ages in the church before so many of the modern innovations began to creep in.

We use old-fashioned hymns and the Sarum Rite Mass. If this appeals to you, come find your roots again with us. Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church

The Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 19617 Highway 21 North in Bogalusa, welcomes everyone to come worship with us every Saturday. Our Sabbath school begins at 9:40 a.m. and worship service begins at 11 a.m. We have a fellowship meal following our worship service and everyone is invited to stay. Love Outreach Family Worship Church

New Bethel Church

Every week is full of activity at New Bethel Church, located at 737 Ave. F in Bogalusa. Monday at 6:30 p.m. is a Small Group Class on Prayer by Sister Mary. Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. is Wild Ones Youth Night. Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. is a Leadership and Prayer Meeting, and at 6:30 p.m. is Worship and Teaching. Thursday at 6:30 p.m. is Celebrate Recovery. Friday at 6 p.m. is Chosen Movie Night. Saturday at 6 p.m. is Karaoke Night, and Sunday at 11 a.m. is the Sunday Morning Service.

Calvary Christian Fellowship

Calvary Christian Fellowship, located at 1240 Ave. F. in Bogalusa, is having Sunday morning services in house at 10:30 a.m., and welcomes the public to come worship.
