Bowling Green School’s girls basketball team won two of three in the 2022 Copiah Academy Christmas Tournament that was held Dec. 28-30.
Bowling Green won its first game, 53-47, over Clinton Christian Academy.
Bailey Duvall scored 18 points to lead Bowling Green in points. Duvall made a 3-pointer, grabbed three rebounds, dished out an assist, made two steals and blocked a shot.
Chloe Bertrand posted 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting, two boards, two assists and four steals.
Peyton Dupuy tallied 11 points on 4-of-8 from the floor that included three 3-pointers, an assist and a steal.
Claire Wascom had three points on a 3-pointer, two rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Lanah Martinez put up three points on a 3-pointer and pulled down a rebound.
Lydia Tullos posted two points,
Kenli Reid tallied two points, five rebounds, an assist and two steals.
Claire Varnado recorded two points, a rebound and an assist.
Kylee Creel had two assists.
The next day was a 51-43 victory over Central Hinds Academy.
Devall once again led Bowling Green with 18 points. She made seven of her 14 shot attempts, grabbed five boards, dished out five assists and made three steals.
Betrand posted 14 that included two 3-pointers, seven rebounds and three assists.
Dupuy recorded six points on two 3-pointers with three assists.
Wascom tallied six points on two 3-pointers and five rebounds.
Martinez had five points, three boards and an assist.
Varnado logged two points, two rebounds and a steal.
Reid had four boards, an assist and a steal.
Bowling Green School’s final game was a 41-33 loss to Jackson Academy on Friday.
Dupuy scored 12 points on four 3-pointers to go with two rebounds.
Bertrand posted seven points to lead Bowling Green in points along with a rebound and four assists.
Devall tallied eight points, five boards, an assist and three steals.
Reid recorded six points on two 3-pointers, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Wascom posted three rebounds, while Varnado had one.
Bowling Green’s next game will be on Jan. 6 against Columbia Academy on the road.
