Bowling Green defeated in tournament

Bowling Green School’s boys basketball team was defeated in its three games in the 2022 Copiah Academy Christmas Tournament that was held Dec. 28-30.
The first game was a 55-28 loss to Bayou on Dec. 28.
Weston Bush scored nine points to lead Bowling Green in points. He pulled down four rebounds and dished out an assist.
Dylan Hamilton tallied six points on two 3-pointers with a rebound.
Hunter Thomas recorded four points, two boards, a steal and a blocked shot.
Zeke Burford posted four points, a rebound and two steals.
Christian Williams tallied three points on a 3-pointer with four boards and an assist.
Camrin Seal had two points, two rebounds and a steal.
Preston Jarrell made two steals, while Dray Killingsworth pulled down six rebounds, dished out an assist and made a steal, Morgan Verret had two boards and Nate Keen posted a rebound.
The next day, Bowling Green came up short to Central Hinds Academy, 39-34.
Bush was the Buccaneers’ leader in points with 12 on four 3-pointers. Bush also pulled down two boards, dished out an assist, made a steal and blocked a shot.
Killingsworth tallied seven points that included a 3-pointer with four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Thomas tallied six points and two rebounds.
Jarrell had three points on a 3-pointer with two boards, an assist, a steal and a blocked shot.
Seal posted three points on a 3-pointer and an assist.
Burford tallied three points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
The final game was a 75-34 loss to Jackson Academy on Friday.
Burford led Bowling Green in points with 10 to go with two rebounds.
Bush posted eight points, eight boards, two assists and a steal.
Watson tallied six points on two 3-pointers and a steal.
Kilingsworth recorded five points and a rebound.
Thomas logged three points and five rebounds.
Jarrell had two points, three boards and a blocked shot.
Seal tallied a rebound and an assist, while Christian Williams had a rebound.
Bowling Green School’s next game will be on Jan. 6 against Columbia Academy on the road.
