From staff reports

Every holiday season, stunning ornaments designed by Louisiana students beautifully trim the Christmas trees inside the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion. These beautiful works of art make the holiday season throughout the mansion extra special. We would like invite our talented art students across the state to design ornaments celebrating this year’s theme, White Christmas.

The ornaments should not exceed 5 inches in height or width with 1 inch of depth. Students can decorate the ornaments using any materials they like and in any way they desire. For display purposes, students are asked to to list their grade, school, city and art teacher on the back of each ornament.

They should be mailed no later than Nov. 16.

The group asks that there be more than 10 ornaments per school.

In December, they will display the ornaments on Christmas trees inside the Governor’s Mansion. They also plan to post videos and photos on social media for everyone to view the decorations.
