Varnado holding junior high school basketball jamborees

Varnado High School is hosting the Washington Parish Junior High Basketball Jamborees that are being held on Monday and Tuesday.

The seventh graders will play on Monday with the eighth graders playing on Tuesday.

Each game will feature an eight-minute running clock.

Games on Monday will start at 5 p.m. and are scheduled to begin every 15 minutes with the last contest set for 7 p.m.

Tuesday’s game will tip off at 5 p.m. and start every 15 minutes with the final game starting at 7:45 p.m.

Monday’s action will start with Pine and Mt. Hermon School in a boys game.

The next two games will be Varnado and Pine with the girls at 5:15 p.m. and the boys at 5:30 p.m.

Mt. Hermon School’s boys return to play Franklinton at 5:45 p.m.

The next two games are Franklinton and Pine with the girls at 6 p.m. and the boys after.

Varnado’s teams will play the next three games.

The boys will go against Mt. Hermon at 6:30 p.m. with the girls and boys going against Franklinton at 6:45 and 7 p.m. respectively to wrap up the jamboree.

Tuesday’s contests will start with Varnado and Pine. The girls play at 5 p.m. and the boys will compete at 5:15 p.m.

The 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. games are Franklinton and Mt. Hermon School girls and boys respectively.

The next two contests will be between Varnado and Mt. Hermon girls and boys respectively at 6 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

Then Franklinton and Pine’s girls and boys go against each other at 6:30 p.m.and 6:45 p.m.

The 7 p.m. hour will start with Pine and Mt. Hermon School boys with the same schools’ girls teams going against each other at 7:15 p.m.

The final two games will be between Varnado and Franklinton girls at 7:30 p.m. and those two schools’ boys teams at 7:45 p.m.
