Bogalusa cross country team competed in regionals

Bogalusa had three cross country runners in the Division 3, Region 3 Meet that was held in New Orleans’ City Park.

Lakeyna Mark was Bogalusa’s top runner, as she came in 62nd place with a time of 32 minutes, 14 seconds.

Cierra Gibson and Sha’Kezie Jefferson were 66th and 67th with times of 34:33 and 34:52.

E.D. White’s Elizabeth Rodrigue won the race in 19:43.

This meet was a qualifier. The top 25 runners and the top eight teams are headed to state, which is Nov. 14 at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Isidore Newman’s Maggie Smith was second at 19:52 with E.D. White teammates Emma Ritchie, Caroline Molaison and Caroline Dietz were third through fifth with times of 20:29, 20:48 and 20:52 in a field of 67.

E.D. White won the meet with 20 points.

Isidore Newman was second with 44 points, followed by Archbishop Hannan’s 111, Ursuline Academy’s 118 and Northlake Christian School came in fifth with 150 points, as nine teams recorded points.
