Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Nov. 2, 2022, Mrs. Betty Sue Thomas, surrounded by family at her home, went to be with her loving God. Betty was employed by St. Tammany Parish Clerk of Court for over 33 years. She was a member of Bogalusa Civic League and was an avid Pikino player, which she enjoyed doing with her friends. Of all her enjoyments, her two grandchildren were her heart.

She is survived by a devoted and loving husband of 42 years, Mr. Gary D. Thomas; one son, Archie (Zarina DeWindt) Eugene Thomas; one step-daughter, Michelle (Pete) Murzi; two grandchildren, Bladen (Brooke) Thomas and Kinley Thomas; a special cousin who she loved as a sister, Shirley Atkins; two fur babies, Bella and Roscoe; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Hilda Cook.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home has been entrusted with final arrangements. On Monday, Nov. 7, a visitation will start in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Bro. Field Thigpen will officiate the services, with interment to immediately follow at Blackwell Cemetery in Franklinton.

The Thomas family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice and Lakeview Hospital for all of their help during this difficult time.
