On Oct. 13, 2022, Mr. Dakota Morris passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kentwood. Mr. Morris was a life-long resident of Franklinton. He enjoyed video games, playing basketball, and wood-working. He enjoyed his wood-working so much that he was making a career of it at Sheridan’s Custom Cabinetry. As much as he enjoyed his hobbies, nothing compared to the time he spent with his children, fiancée, and family.

Mr. Morris is survived by his dedicated fiancée, Elizabeth Nicholson; two children, Kaiden-Ray Allen Morris and Kayleigh Reneè Morris; his loving parents, Brittney Breland and Nathan Thomas; a father, Cody Morris; three brothers, Caleb Dawson Breland, Peyton Zane Breland and Mitchell Dickerson; one sister, Gracelyn Sky Morris; grandparents, Willethia Goings and Wilton Goings; two aunts, Syrenia Applewhite and Sherry Blackburn; two uncles, Johnny Spears and Jacob (Brittany) Walker; a cousin, Devin Pounds; special friends, Jim and Annette Hutchison; a very special aunt, Brandi “CoCo” Sanner; and a host of other special nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert and Willa Rester, Thomas Earl Spears, and Tracy Morris; an aunt, Kaylee Scott Morris; and his future mother-in-law, Reneé Nicholson.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel and start on Monday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 25, visitation will resume at 10 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. Bro. Eric Williams will officiate services in the funeral home chapel, with interment to immediately follow at Bonnie Cemetery in Angie.
