Pauline Robinson Torrence, 88, was born Feb. 17, 1934, and departed this life on Oct. 8, 2022, at her home.

Pauline was a well-known and respected member of this community. She was a faithful church member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church until her health started to decline.

She was a graduate of Wesley Ray High School the class of 1953 and she received her cosmetology license from May’s Beauty School. Pauline retired after 40 years as a Switch Board Operator Supervisor at Bogalusa Medical Center, which is now Our Lady of the Angels Hospital.

Mrs. Pauline leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Hezekah Torrence Jr. of Bogalusa; one daughter, Veronica (Billy) Thompson of Pearland, Texas; five grandkids, Yoshiko LaToi Harry of Lewisville, Texas, Chloé (Bryan) Williams of Mansfield, Texas, Tailer (Jamal) Black of Lindale, Texas, Hezekiah Torrence III of Baton Rouge, and Antoine Torrence of Virginia Beach, Va.; one great grandson, Tyler R. Redditt of Bogalusa; and a brother-in-law, Freddie Jefferson of Angie.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Lena Robinson; five brothers, Delois, Samuel, Willie, Claude and Roscoe Robinson; three sisters, Genevive Foster, Earnestine James Davis and Geraldine Robinson Jefferson; one daughter, Sharon Ann Harry; and one granddaughter, Tiffany Redditt.

Drive-through viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at Metropolitan Baptist Church at 11 a.m., with the Rev. M. J. Galloway officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
