Robert Carl “Plum Head” Thompson, a native of Bogalusa, and resident of Abita Springs, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, at the age of 59.

Robert made his career as a carpenter for 41 years. He loved hunting and fishing and his LSU Tigers. He enjoyed Hotrods and Harleys and always had a need for speed.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Amber Taylor Thompson; his children, Trevor (Makayla) Thompson of Bogalusa, and Noel (Blake) Thomas of Pine; three grandchildren, Dylan Ritchie of Pine, Braylan Thomas of Pine, and Reed Thompson of Bogalusa; a sister, Linda (Richard) Slade of Mandeville; and two nephews, Matthew R. Slade of Sulphur, and Joshua Slade of Covington. He is also survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Ann Foil Thompson of Pine, and other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Gloria Thompson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time for the services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Norman Tynes officiating the services. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
