Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

God called home his faithful servant on Aug. 30, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.

Lunder Earl Johnson was born on March 8, 1951, to the late Claray Bridges Johnson and the late Jennie Johnson.

He was a graduate of Louisiana State School for the Blind. Lunder started singing, playing the piano and organ at an early age. He began using his gifts at Center Baptist Missionary Church under the leadership of the late L. W. Bolton Sr. where he was also baptized. He learned how to play by ear.

Lunder loved singing with his brother, Melvin, and his sister, Bonnie. The three of them together, along with his niece, Melanie Clark, formed the group C&J Singers.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Bonnie (Bobby) Clark of Chicago, Ill., and Cathernell Johnson-Westbrook and Annie Johnson Moses, both of Bogalusa; one brother, Melvin Johnson of New Orleans; one brother-in-law, Philip Jefferson of Bogalusa; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in transition by his parents; his grandmother, Olivia Bridges; three sisters, Evelyn, Gwendolyn and Betty; three brothers, Willie, Isaac and Ernest; three nieces, Marie, Stephanie and Cynthia; four nephews, Tony, Ben Jr., Otha and Anthony; one brother-in-law, Billy Clark; and one sister-in-law, Helen Peters.

Drive-through viewing will be Friday, Sept. 9, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

Viewing will be Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon until 2 p.m., at the Bogalusa High School auditorium, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m.
