On Feb. 11, 1963, God blessed Frank and Carrie Lee Berry with a beautiful daughter, Ollie Idella Berry. She departed this life at the age of 59 at Lakeview Regional Hospital.

At an early age, Ollie joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Tom Baily Jr., and now under the leadership of Rev. Douglas Hart.

She was a graduate of Bogalusa High School, Class of 1981. After graduation, she attended the Army Reserves and college and became an LPN.

Ollie leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Dewon Berry, Carrie Berry and David (Ashley) Berry, all of Bogalusa; one brother, Frank Berry Jr.; three aunts, Bernice Mitchell of Yazoo City, Miss., Shirley Stewart of Milwaukee, Wis., and Lillie Peterson of Jackson, Miss.; one uncle, Wiley (Olivia) Peters; 11 grandchildren, Jamiyah Craft, Diamond Simmons, Shavontae’ Sims, De’Shunti Robinson, Alfred Moses III, Al’Monte Moses, Nia Berry, Carleigh Berry, Aubree Berry, Zayd Berry and Dewon Berry Jr.; one great grandchild, Jemere Craft, all of Bogalusa; one special friend/daughter, Shermaine Keys of Bogalusa; and a host of many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carrie Lee Berry; and two brothers, Donald Ray Dixon and Jerry Dixon.

Visitation will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Hart officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
