Frances Sue Bennett, 74, of Bogalusa, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Lakeview Regional Hospital in Covington.

Sue was a long-time school teacher in St. Tammany Parish and a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, where she received her MBA in Education and was Miss SLU.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, George Scott Bennett.

Sue is survived by her loving brothers-in-law, Blake (Susan) Bennett, Gregg (Loretta) Bennett and Mark (Lauranna) Bennett. Sue is also survived by her brother, Kenneth “Bobby” Harrison and his children, Lyle Harrison, Kyle Harrison and Laura Fritzlen. She was preceded in death by her other brother, J.B. Harrison, and survived by his children, Jimmy Harrison and Randal Harrison. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Francis Marin Harrison and Maudine Moore Harrison. Sue is also survived by her cousin, Ken Manning.

Sue and “Sheep,” as they were affectionately known by family and friends, were a true love story, married for 41 years before Scott’s untimely passing last year. They were the life of every party, hosting large Mardi Gras parties at their home in Bogalusa for the annual MCCA parade. Sue loved Mardi Gras and just recently attended this year’s parade.

Sue lived her life to the very end on her terms, the way she enjoyed living at her home in Bogalusa with her beloved cats. We will all miss her dearly; she was loved by her Bennett and Harrison families and many friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, at noon in Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
