Demetris Michelle Mingo-Avery departed this life on Aug. 2, 2022, at the age of 39. She was raised in Angie by her grandmother, Mary B. Peters. Demetris worked as a waitress at Redzone and as a babysitter for family and friends.

Demetris was a very lovely woman, who loved helping everyone she could. She has six children whom she loved more than anything.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her six children, Nigeria, Angel, Keandrus Mingo, Kinsley Weary and Ky’ier Avery, all of Bogalusa, and Jerome Mingo of Hammond; her father, Elvis (Theresa) Peters; two sisters, Bri’Anne Toliver and Edna (Leo) Esters; a niece, Felicity Toliver; her godmother, Molean Brock of Angie; goddaughter, Stardashia Lewis of Columbia, Miss.; a special friend, Stephanie Jackson of Bogalusa; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gisele Francis Lee, and a sister, Laraycia Toliver.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Terrance August officiating. Interment will be at the Wesley Ray Cemetery.
