Candidates qualify for races in November general election

Candidates have qualified for upcoming state and local races, in the general election scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The three-day qualifying period began Wednesday and ended Friday at 4:30 p.m.

The unofficial list of candidates who qualified for each race, according to the Secretary of State’s website at 4:40 p.m. Friday, was as follows:

  • Bogalusa Mayor — Teddy Drummond, Wendy O’Quin Perrette and Tyrin Truong.
  • Bogalusa City Council, At-Large (two to be elected) — Penny Douglas, Wendy Williams Dupont, Marilyn Lott, James “Mack” McGehee and Tamira Moss Smith.
  • Bogalusa City Council, District A — Doris Cage Garrett and Gloria W. Kates.
  • Bogalusa City Council, District B — Ellen Carter and Danielle Magee-Keys.
  • Bogalusa City Council, District C — Oneita H. Graham and Shelby Temples.
  • Bogalusa City Council, District D — Dorman “Kenny” Kellis.
  • Bogalusa City Council, District E — Cullie Cotton Jr. and Mark Irvine.
  • Bogalusa City Prosecutor — Trent Temples.
  • Bogalusa School Board, District 1 — Paul D. Kates and Roniqua Toler Watkins.
  • Bogalusa School Board, District 2 — Ann G. Arata and LaVerne Cook Jr.
  • Boglausa School Board, District 3 — Willie “Toni” Breaux.
  • Bogalusa School Board, District 4 — Paul W. Dantin and Catherine “Cathy” Mitchell.
