Mayor Greg Route of Franklinton presented his “Mayor for a Day” on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Town Hall.

Jayden Palmer, the 13-year-old son of Mary Palmer, was presented to the crowd with a key to the city, a town lapel pin, several gifts, a lavish dinner and a proclamation declaring this day in his honor.

Last year, Jacob McVea was the first honoree of the new mayor.
