On Thursday, June 16, 2022, Anna Louise Sampson transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 94. She was a member of Salters Chapel A.M.E. Church, where, in her earlier years, she worked diligently wherever she was needed.

“Mama Lou” worked at the Bogalusa Medical Center for many years until she retired.

She was blessed to be loved by many. She leaves to cherish her memories: a grandson, Victor Peters; a granddaughter, Bridgette Harris of Texas; two great-grandsons, Jaiden Peters who she reared as her son and Victor Peters Jr., both of Bogalusa; one step-son, Reginald Sampson; one step-daughter, Devosha Henry of Hammond; one god-daughter, Myra Magee of Angie; special nieces whom provided care, Brenda Stallings, Danielle Keys, Briaunna Stallings and Brandy Bickham, all of Bogalusa; special friends, Myrtis Robinson, Nora Augman, Faye Brister, Elizabeth Gholar, Emma Sibley, Chiquetta Pittman and Patricia Lewis; and a host of numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Ruby Gibson; loving husband, Andrew Sampson; daughters, Gerdie Harris and Patricia Sampson; step-son, Rodney Sampson, granddaughter Miranda Peters; sister, Audrey Sartin, seven brothers, John, Eddie, Theodore, Willie, Charles, James and Jesse; and a special niece, Dorothy Sartin.

The drive-through viewing will be Thursday, June 23, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The funeral service will be Friday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Christopher Matthews officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery in Bogalusa. Sign the guestbook online at www.crainandsons.com.
