Eleanor Jones Oxner Mizell, 86, died peacefully on June 13, 2022, at her home, Avanti Senior Living Center in Covington. She was born April 10, 1936, in Carson, Miss.

She is the daughter of Fred and Ruby Jones.

She is survived by two children, Steve Oxner and Debbie Sprehe (Roy); grandchildren, Lesli Sprehe and Marinna Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Logan Jenkins and Chloe Jenkins; extended family, Lionel Mathies (Melanie), Bobby Oxner (Melissa) and children, Hank Oxner (Michelle), as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner, Will Rester; a son, Kenneth Oxner; brothers, Claude, Fred Jr. and Bill Jones; and sisters, Beatrice King and Dorothy Bracey.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services on Monday June 20, at Brown McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the service time at 2 p.m., with Bro. Fred Brumfield officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
