Bennie Earl Alexander was born March 22, 1959, to the late I.J. and Henrietta Alexander of Tylertown, Miss. He departed this life on Saturday April 30, 2022, at his residence in Bogalusa.

He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church at a early age. He moved to New Orleans in 1984 and resided there for 25 years.

He loved working as a landscaper, construction worker, and prep cook.

Bennie leaves to cherish his companion of 39 years, Shirley King; a daughter, LaToya King; a granddaughter, Demani King; a god-daughter, Ishanteara Varnado; three sisters, Inita (Charles) Alexander, Letricia (late John Magee), Gwen (Johnny C.) Gholar; two brothers, Michael (Michelle) Alexander of Austin, Texas, and Nicholas Bullock of Picayune, Miss.; one god-brother, Douglass Levi; one special friend, Darryl Magee, all of Bogalusa; a close nephew, Daron Wells of Baton Rouge; aunts, Seleather Marks, Edgie Crumedy, Beatrice Crumedy, all of Tylertown; one uncle, Collis (Yolonda) Crumedy of Tylertown; Pasty (Don) Lewis, Ruthie Rosee Lee King; the entire King/ Levi family; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, I.J. and Henrietta Alexander; two brothers, Ivey J. Alexander and Billy Ray Alexander; a nephew, Ladarrius Alexander, a best friend, Mr. Jeffery Magee; grandmother, Mammie Brown Crumedy; an uncle, Walter Crumedy; and special godparents, Bernard (Lola Mae) Magee.

Drive-thru visitation will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa on Friday, May 13, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa on Saturday, May 14, at 1 p.m.
