Venture Crew has spots available for canoe racers
Bogalusa Venture Crew 313 has spots available on its canoe racing teams.
The group is preparing for several canoe races this spring.
Participants must be between the ages of 13 and 21.
There is no cost to join, as the crew funds the racing through its work programs.
The group is practicing at Five Lakes every Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.

Lumberjack All Call Luncheon
On May 21, all ex Lumberjacks players and coaches will have a Dutch Treat Luncheon at Bino’s.
The event will start at 11 a.m. and they gave thanks to Bino’s for hosting the luncheon.
This is an opportunity to see old playing and coaching buddies and have a great lunch with them.
Also, Bogalusa coach Cyril Crutchfield will introduce his coaching staff and give a brief overview of the team and his outlook for the upcoming season.
The group requests that people tell any ex player or coach that they are invited, as they would like everyone to attend.

Raider Basketball Camp
Pine High School is hosting the Raider Basketball Camp that will take place June 6-9.
The cost is $60.
The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 4-14.
Ages 4-8 will go from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., while 9-14s will be there from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The camp will give participants an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball while having fun.
Early registration has a deadline of May 16 and will guarantee a camp T-shirt and basketball.

Pine hosting baseball camp
Pine High School is holding a baseball camp June 6-9 at Raider Field for ages 7-14.
A typical day includes stations/drill work, lectures/situations and games/contests. The stations include bunting/catching, pitching mechanics, hitting instruction and infield/outfield.
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. until noon for 5-6 year olds and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for everybody else.
The cost is $100.
The registration deadline to receive a T-shirt is May 30.
The camp includes lunch and snacks.
Walkup signups are at 7:30 a.m. on June 6.
The camp will be directed by Pine coach Blake Dillon, who has been the head coach since 2011.
His staff includes current Pine players and coaches.

Sports Works Academy Camp will be in July
The 15th annual Sports Work Academy Basketball camp will be returning to Bogalusa this year under the direction of former Bogalusa All-District performer Michael Galloway and former LSU and Portland Trailblazers star Nikita Wilson.
Galloway is a 1985 Bogalusa High School graduate.
The camp will take place at the Ave B YMCA on Saturday, July 23 starting at 9 a.m.
Galloway said they have confirmed the return of Coach O’Brian Calahan, founder and head Coach at Only Basketball Elite, a top tier sports program that teaches aspiring athletes the foundational skills to excel. Calahan attended Jonesboro Hodge High School, where he was an all-state performer and district MVP. Calahan went on to play at Alcorn St. and Tennessee Temple University.
Galloway said there are several additional coaches that they are in discussion with and they will provide updates once they confirm.
Murrell Galloway, who is a 1987 Bogalusa High School graduate, will return as the coaches captain.
Registration for the camp will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants can pre-register by contacting Michael Galloway at 678-458-3326.
