The U.S. Postal Service will have its annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive Saturday, May 14, for community members in need of food.

Gene Hayman, director of the Bogalusa Help Center, said that BHC staff will appreciate any foods given and set out by citizens’ mail boxes during the drive, as that food will be delivered to the BHC. He noted that the center is scheduled to have an increase in families beginning in May, so any gifts will be appreciated.

In addition, Hayman said that foods may be dropped off at the BHC, located at 350 Martin Luther King Drive in Bogalusa, during the Saturday, May 14, drive from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Foods may also be donated any Wednesday from 8 a.m. until noon.

“We appreciate each of you who give, and especially appreciate the U.S. postal carriers,” Hayman said.
