Franklinton victorious over Livonia to start the playoffs

Franklinton’s Demons were victorious over Livonia, 11-1, in five innings in the bi-district round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

Rickeen Burhalter singled twice with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Trevor Vise singled, doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Nathan Parden had two hits that included a double with two RBIs.

Rickey Burhalter singled with a run batted in and two runs scored.

Will Turner singled.

Dylan Stafford scored three runs, while Kaden Buffinet scored a run and drove one home, Tryson Fowler drove in a run, Banyan Penton and Braylon Magee both posted one run scored.

Winning pitcher Micah Wascom pitched three innings of two-hit shutout ball with nine strikeouts and no walks.

No. 11 Franklinton, which is 19-8, will start a three-game series at sixth-seeded Lakeshore (21-9) on April 29. Game two, and if necessary, game three will be on April 30. Lakeshore defeated 27th-seeded Beau Chene (10-24), 11-2, in the bi-district round. The winner will play either seventh-seeded South Lafourche (22-11) or No. 23 Warren Easton (11-15).

Livonia went 16-17 this season.
