Lady Demons represented in regionals in 3 events

MANDEVILLE — Franklinton’s Lady Demons have two individuals and a relay team headed to regionals.

Jennifer Dong and Keteylar Hodges along with the 4×100 relay team made it to regionals in the District 9-4A Meet that was held on Wednesday at Lakeshore. Franklinton is the only team from Washington Parish in District 9-4A.

Dong came in second place in the discus with a throw of 75 feet, 6 inches.

Isabella Lambert was fifth at 56-2. St. Scholastica Academy’s Lainey Connell won with a distance of 94-9.

Hodges was fourth in the shot put at 23-6.

Jakyla McClane was sixth at 20-4. Salmen’s Kathleen Galey won at 29-10.

Franklinton’s 4×100-meter relay team was fourth with a time of 59.98 seconds. Salmen topped the event in 53.55.

Wednesday’s meet was a qualifying event. The top four from each event are headed to regionals. The Region 3-4A Meet will be held on Tuesday at West Jefferson.

Several more Lady Demons competed.

Aleigha Dalton came in fifth in the 100 hurdles with a time of 21.28 seconds. St. Scholastica Academy’s Emma Prieto won in 16.97.

Lambert was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 52-1. St. Scholastica Academy’s Lainey Connell won at 94-9.

Carli Smith was sixth in the long jump with a distance of 13-0.5. St. Scholastica Academy’s Lucy Divittorio won at 15-3.

Lindsey Bailee and Dalton ran seventh and eighth in the 100 at 15.04 and 15.26. Salmen’s Dalshea Johnson topped the event in 13.37.

Mercedes Lopez and Amiryan Dyson ran seventh and ninth in the 200 with times of 33.06 and 34.03. Lakeshore’s Renné Meynard won in 27.82.

St. Scholastica Academy won the meet with 186 points.

Salmen was second with 89.5, followed by Salmen’s 89.5, Pearl River’s 32, Lakeshore’s 24 and Franklinton’s 12.5.
