Franklinton’s Daniels comes in 2nd in 200

Franklinton’s Kelly Daniels came in second in the long jump at the Allie Smith Invitational that was held on April 7 at Covington High School.

Daniels’ jump was 21 feet, 7.5 inches. Bogalusa’s De’Marcus Holmes and Franklinton’s  Timarion Partman were 13th and 14th with distances of 17-4 and 17-2.5. Ponchatoula’s Tyrese Primus won the event at 21-10.

Franklinton’s Sebastian Magee ran seventh in the 300-meter hurdles and teammate Christiun Martin was 11th with times of 45.66 seconds and 48.53. Northlake Christian School’s Ollie Brumfield won in 42.28.

Franklinton’s 4×800 relay team came in seventh with a time of 10 minutes, 29 seconds. The team had Jakobie McCormick, Aiden Moak, Kayle Boyle and Jeremiah Jones. Ponchatoula topped the event in 9:10.

Bogalusa’s Tyren Jackson, teammate Nigel Caldwell and Franklinton’s Wyatt Lambert were seventh, 15th and 18th in the discus with throws of 105-10, 89-6 and 79-8. Ponchatoula’s Darrien Brider threw a 125-7 to win.

Franklinton’s Andrew Crain came in eighth in the 3,200 after running a 12:23. Slidell’s Reese Kirby won in 11:09.

Franklinton’s Kollin Williams and Martin were eighth and 10th for the triple jump at 36-7 and 33-10. Ponchatoula’s Davonte White bested the event 43-2.

McCormick and Holmes were ninth and 13th in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5-2 and 5-0. Slidell’s Jayden Averhart won at 6-6.

Magee and Martin were ninth and 15th in the 110 hurdles at 18.96 and 22.30. Northshore’s Dylan Holmes ran the event in 15.83 to win.

Franklinton’s Kendarius Brumfield and teammate Justyn Miller were 10th and 18th for the javelin with distances of 122-1 and 87-3, as Fontainebleau’s Benjamin Bird threw a 160-3 to win.

Franklinton’s Zion Anders was 11th in the 100 with a time of 12.20 with Salmen’s Jaylin Williams winning in 11.31.

Franklinton teammates Ahmod Partman and Jackson were 11th and 14th in the 400 with times of 58.85 and 1:00. Ponchatoula’s Funentes James captured the event in 52.00.

Crain and Moak came in 11th and 16th in the 1,600 after running in 5:24 and 6:03. Fontainebleau’s Benjamin Lewis won the event in 4:43.

Franklinton’s Williams was 12th in the 200 with a time of 26.21. Fontainebleau’s Lonnie Tankersley won in 22.89.

Crain, Jones and Bogalusa teammates Marley McGowan and Haikem Thompson were 12th, 13th, 17th and 18th for the 800 after they ran the event in 2:28, 2:29, 2:43 and 2:53. Fontainebleau’s Hassan Siddiqui won in 2:08.

Caldwell and teammate Tymarion Hughes came in 15th and 17th for the shot put with results of 31-2.5 and 28-7. Covington’s Logan Potter won with a distance of 45-8.

Both teams will be in district meets on Wednesday. Bogalusa will be in the 8-3A competition at Jewel Sumner, while Franklinton will be at Lakeshore in the 9-4A meet.
