Franklinton defeats Pearl River twice last week in baseball

Franklinton defeated Pearl River in games held on last Wednesday and Thursday in District 9-4A play.

Wednesday’s game was a 3-0 victory, as Micah Wascom threw a complete-game one-hitter. Wascom tallied 13 strikeouts and just two walks.

Trevor Vise singled and scored a run.

Banyan Penton doubled.

Will Turner and Dillon Pace both singled.

Tyler Hammond scored a run and drove in a run, while Braylon Magee scored a run.

Thursday’s game was a 7-1 win at home.

Penton tallied two hits with two runs batted in.

Wascom singled, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Rickeen Burkhalter singled and scored two runs.

Vise doubled and scored a run.

Tryson Fowler scored two runs, while Rickey Burkhalter scored one run and Turner drove in a run.

Winning pitcher Pace went four innings, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Turner threw the final three innings, allowing no runs on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

Franklinton’s next game will be on April 19 against Salmen at the road.
