Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church

The Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bogalusa, located at 1104 Poplas St., will be holding its Annual Ushers’ Ministry Day program on Sunday, April 24. The service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. Their guest minister will be Minister Tonchelle Ward, a native of and resident of New Orleans. The ushers’ ministry order of service will consist of inspirational music, mentorship talks, and guest messages designed to educate young people on the importance and benefits of working in the household of God. The public is invited to attend. Ward is an author, motivational speaker, counselor and servant of God. She is a member of New Home Family Worship Center, New Orleans (The Temple) under the leadership of Bishop R.C. Blakes Jr. and serves as a part of the Ministerial Alliance. She is the founder and Overseer of The Girl Code Women’s Ministry, launched June 23, 2017, to empower women to examine themselves and live their lives according to biblical principles and sound doctrine.

Minister Tonchelle Ward

The motto of The Girl Code is “Loving the Me I See.” She launched her first book, a life application devotional, “The Girl Code; How to Love Yourself in God,” in June of 2019. Ward earned a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans in December of 2003. She later continued her education at Southern University at New Orleans and earned a Master of Social Work Degree in May of 2008. She has been employed with the City of New Orleans for the past 25 years. She is the owner, designer and cake creator of Prolific Event Designs DBA Tiny’s Creations. She is the mother of one son, Tajé Clausen. Her favorite song is “To God Be the Glory” and her favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:31 — “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Ward has served in ministry for the past 38 years and lives by the personal motto, “What God Has for Me, Is for Me!”

Sweet Beulah Baptist Church

Sweet Beulah Baptist Church will be celebrating its 102nd year church anniversary on Sunday, April 24, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Keith Sanders, pastor of Union Bethel AME Church in New Orleans, will be the speaker. The public is cordially invited.

Union Heritage Baptist Church

Union Heritage Baptist Church is hosting a series of lectures on Sunday evenings at 6 p.m., which began Sunday, March 13, and will run through Sunday, April 24. The study entitled “The Trail of Blood” traces the Lord’s New Testament churches down through the centuries. The public is invited to attend. The church is located at 20099 Caroline Drive in Bogalusa.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church

Children’s Sunday School and Pastor Joe Arthur’s Adult Bible class each begin at 9:15 a.m. Sunday service starts at 10:30 a.m. with Divine Worship celebrating Holy Communion every Sunday, using best practices to avoid coronavirus spread. New Bethel Church

Every week is full of activity at New Bethel Church, located at 737 Ave. F in Bogalusa. Monday at 6:30 p.m. is a Small Group Class on Prayer by Sister Mary. Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. is Wild Ones Youth Night. Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. is a Leadership and Prayer Meeting, and at 6:30 p.m. is Worship and Teaching. Thursday at 6:30 p.m. is Celebrate Recovery. Friday at 6 p.m. is Chosen Movie Night. Saturday at 6 p.m. is Karaoke Night, and Sunday at 11 a.m. is the Sunday Morning Service.

Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church

The Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 19617 Highway 21 North in Bogalusa, welcomes everyone to come worship with us every Saturday. Our Sabbath school begins at 9:40 a.m. and worship service begins at 11 a.m. We have a fellowship meal following our worship service and everyone is invited to stay. The Church of God of Prophecy
