Pine defeats Kentwood twice this week

Pine’s Raiders defeated Kentwood, 14-2 and 15-1 in five innings in District 9-2A games that were held on Wednesday and Thursday.

The 14-2 game was on the road Wednesday.

Aden Wiggins posted three hits in as many at bats that included a double, four runs batted in and two runs scored.

Chase Cooper went 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored.

Brandon Sprehe singled twice with an RBI and three runs scored.

Clint Miley and Ethan Ryals both singled, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Hayden Logsdon doubled, scored a run and drove in a run.

Lucas Lemaire scored two runs, while Chris Strahan scored a run and drove in a run and Luke Spears and Bryson Thomas scored a run.

Winning pitcher Cooper allowed two runs, one earned on two hits with eight strikeouts and one walk over 3-1/3 innings

Clint Miley went 1-2/3 shutout innings of no-hit ball with two strikeouts and a walk.

The 15-1 game was at home on Thursday.

Ryals singled, drove in four runs and scored two runs.

Lemaire doubled with three RBIs and a run scored.

Miley singled and drove in two runs.

Cooper doubled and scored two runs.

Spears singled and scored a run.

Logsdon scored three runs and drove in a run, while Thomas scored a run and drove in a run, Cam Brown, Strahan and Sprehe all scored a run.

Thomas pitched two innings and allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

Strahan threw 1-2/3 innings of no-hit shutout ball with three strikeouts and two walks.

Brady Polk allowed one hit and no runs with two strikeouts and three walks over 1-1/3 innings.

Pine’s next game will be on April 8 against Independence on the road.
