MANDEVILLE — Pine’s Averyon Wiley came in fourth place in the long jump at the Jim Camhout Invitational 2022 that was hosted by Northshore and held at Lakeshore on Thursday.

Wiley long jumped 19 feet, 8.5 inches. Bogalusa’s De’Marcus Holmes came in 18th with a distance of 16-5.5. Chalmette’s Clarence Pesnell won at 21-2.

Bogalusa and Pine were the local teams in the meet that had about 20 teams.

Bogalusa’s Aquinas Roberts and Holmes were fifth and 12th in the high jump after clearing the bar at 5-10, 5-2. Slidell’s JaHyde WIlliams won at 6-4.

Pine’s James Owens came in sixth in the javelin with teammate Zack Thomas at 22nd with throws of 119-1 and 65-0. Lakeshore’s Brandon Pierre threw a 138-10 to win.

Pine and Bogalusa’s 4×200 relay teams ran eighth and ninth with times of 1:40 and 1:41. Pine runners were Wiley, Owens, Thomas and Benard. Bogalusa’s team included Jamarian Magee, Reynis Morris, Tyren Jackson and Ja’Darrale Alexander. Helen Cox won in 1:31.

Two individuals came in eighth for Bogalusa in Desmond Ramirez and Jackson.

Desmond was eighth in the triple jump, while Jackson came in eighth for the discus with distances of 35-2 and 92-8.

Teammate Roberts was 10th in the triple jump at 34-10, while Nigel Caldwell placed 15th in the discus with a distance of 80-0.

Salmen’s Jayden Hardison won the triple jump at 42-6.5 and Northlake Christian School’s Kyron Ross topped the discus at 139-3.

Bogalusa’s Rashun Davis ran both hurdles and was 13th in the 110s and 14th in the 300 with times of 21.97 and 1:01. Owens was 15th in the 110s with a time of 23.80. Hahnville’s Jerrick Lucas captured the 110s at 15.88 with Northlake Christian School’s Ollie Brumfield winning the 300 in 42.22.

Caldwell and teammate Ga’Darryl Alexander were 15th and 21st in the shot put at 29-11 and 29-8. De La Salle’s Timothy Maxson III won at 44-8.5.

Pine’s Kirby Martin and Bogalusa’s Marley McGowan were 19th and 24th in the 800 with times of 2:27, 2:33 and 2:37. Dunbar won in 2:03.

Benard and Bogalusa resident George Arata, who goes to Pope John Paul II, came in 19th and 21st for the 200 at 25.79 and 26.25. St. Augustine’s Javan Nicholas won in 22.56.

Arata, Bogalusa’s Wiley, Pine’s Owens and Bogalusa’s Magee were 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th for the 100 with times of 12.40, 12.47, 12.68 and 12.70. Nicholas topped the event in 11.03.

Thomas, Bogalusa’s Holmes and Pine’s Russ Creel were 24th, 26th and 27th in the 400 with times of 1 minute, 2 seconds, 1:04 and 1:07. St. Augustine’s Zander Dunbar won in 51.03.

Bogalusa will compete again on Saturday at the Pass Christian Invitational in Mississippi, while Pine’s next meet will be on April 7 at Southeastern Louisiana University.
