Wascom’s pitching helps Franklinton top Pine

Franklinton’s Micah Wascom had a strong game in a 4-1 win over Pine in a home game that was held on Tuesday.
Wascom threw a complete game, allowing no earned runs on one hit with 12 strikeouts and one walk. Offensively, Wascom tallied a hit.
Nathan Parden posted two hits and a run batted in.
Tryson Fowler singled and scored a run.
Dylan Stafford, Cade Phillips and Braylon Magee all scored a run.
Chase Cooper doubled and scored a run for Pine.
On Wednesday, Pine was defeated by Northlake Christian School, 10-6.
Bryson Thomas went 2-for-2 with a run batted in.
Hayden Logsdon doubled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Cooper tripled and had an RBI.
Wiggins singled and drove in a run.
Lucas Lemaire scored two runs and drove in one, while Chris Strahan, Ethan Ryals and Brandon Sprehe all scored a run.
On Thursday, Franklinton topped Archbishop Hannan, 4-3, in eight innings, as Banyan Penton drove in the eventual game-winning run with a sacrifice bunt, plating Will Turner in the game that was held at Coquille Parks and Recreation.
Turner had a double and two runs scored.
On the mound, Turner went 6-2/3 innings, allowing three runs, one earned on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Rickey Burkhalter posted three hits that included a double with two runs batted in and a run scored.
Dillon Pace singled.
Nathan Parden scored a run.
Pace was the winning pitcher in relief. He threw 1-1/3 shutout innings, allowing no hits with a strikeout and no walks.
Franklinton’s next game is March 19 against Archbishop Hannan at home. Pine will play again on Tuesday against Amite on the road in the District 9-2A opener.
