Franklinton, Pine post 1-1 records in tournament

Franklinton and Pine went 1-1 in the Franklinton Tournament that was held March 10 and last Saturday at Franklinton and Pine.

Games on March 11 were canceled because of incoming weather.

Franklinton began the tournament with a 5-1 win over Poplarville on March 10.

Micah Wascom and Nathan Parden both singled twice and drove in a run.

Tryson Fowler singled and scored three runs.

Will Turner singled and drove in a run.

Rickeen Burkhalter singled.

Banyan Penton had an RBI and a run scored, while D.J. Corkern scored a run.

Winning pitcher Wascom went the distance, allowing one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

Last Saturday’s game was an 8-6 loss to French Settlement.

Turner went 3-for-4 with a single and two doubles with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Wascom singled and scored two runs.

Fowler and Penton both singled and scored a run.

Pardon singled and drove in a run.

Rickey Burkhalter singled.

Pine started the tournament with a 12-4 victory over French Settlement.

Chase Cooper doubled twice and singled once with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Lucas Lemaire singled twice and doubled once and scored three runs.

Brandon Sprehe singled twice, drove in three runs and scored a run.

Clint Miley tripled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Bryson Thomas singled with an RBI and a run scored.

Chris Strahan doubled and drove in a run.

Ethan Ryals singled and scored a run.

Aden Wiggins scored two runs.

Last Saturday’s game was a 12-4 loss to Pearl River.

Cooper tripled and scored a run.

Sprehe singled and drove in a run.

Bogalusa played two games last Saturday and was defeated by Northlake Christian School and Pearl River.

The game against Northlake Christian School was 22-11.

Tajdryn Forbes went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in.

Daren Jackson had two hits and two RBIs.

Michael Burton and Kenneth Keys both had a hit.

The contest against Pearl River was 14-7.

Forbes, Jaylon Keys and Kenneth Keys all had a single and an RBI.

Franklinton’s next game is March 19 against Archbishop Hannan at home. Pine will play again on Tuesday against Amite on the road in the District 9-2A opener. Bogalusa’s next game will be held on March 19 at home against St. Helena College and Career Academy.
