Lady Buccaneers opened season at Silliman

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers competed in the Silliman Warmup Meet 2022 that was held on Thursday.

Rebecca Raymond came in seventh in the long jump with a distance of 12 feet, 1 inch. The Knight Hawks’ Emily Taylor won at 15-9.

Raymond was eighth in the 100 meters with a time of 15.15 seconds. Taylor won in 13.47.

Sophie Nobles and Peyton Thompson came in seventh and eighth in the discus with throws of 57-7 and 52-3. Silliman Institute’s Sara Pace won at 107-10.

Nobles and Addie Goings were seventh and 10th for the shot put with distances of 21-7.25 and 17-3. Amite School Center’s Blair Walsh won at 32-10.75.

The event also featured a junior varsity competition.

Joey Dupont and Dara Harvard won an event each.

Dupont was victorious in the 100 with a time of 14.12.

Teammate Jayla Manning was seventh at 15.10.

Harvard won the shot put at 26-0.5.

Teammate Kyree Creel was fifth with a distance of 23-8.5.

Bowling Green School’s 4×100 relay team of Sinclaire McCune, Manning, Harvard and Dupont were second after running in 56.73. Silliman won in 56.45.

Dupont and Juliana Wilkinson were third and seventh in the 100 hurdles with times of 20.37 and 22.13. Silliman Institute’s Ava Easley won at 18.70.

Reese Williams and Ella Dorset ran fourth and 10th in the 200 with times of 31.88 and 32.66. Silliman Institute’s Katie Dawson won in 29.92.

Creel was fourth for the 800 with a time of 3 minutes, 14 seconds. Silliman Institute’s Josie Dart was the winner in 2:53.

Manning was fifth in the high jump at 4-0, as Dawson won after clearing the bar at 4-8.

Harvard took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 24-0.5. Knight Hawks’ Claire Pitts recorded a 26-10.75 to win.

Peyton Miller was sixth in the 400 after completing the race in 1:20. Dawson won in 1:08.

McCune came in seventh in the 1,600 with a time of 7:17, as Silliman Institute’s Natalie Payne won in 5:57.

Ava Lumpkin and Aubrey McDaniel were 10th and 11th in the long jump with distances of 10-3 and 9-1. Silliman Institute’s Abigail Templet was the winner with a 15-1.25.

Manning was 10th in the discus with a throw of 33-4, as Silliman Institute’s Abigail Otwell won at 70-6.

Bowling Green will compete again on Thursday at Centreville Academy.
