1 week later – Lions face rematch with Louisiana Tech

The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team wraps up its four-game road trip Wednesday with a 6 p.m. non-conference game against Louisiana Tech at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston, Louisiana.

Southeastern (5-7) defeated then No. 25-ranked Louisiana Tech (7-5), 4-3, March 3 in Hammond and now leads the Bulldogs in the all-time series, 41-40.

The game can be heard online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience, Mixlr and MyTuner Radio apps. The MyTuner app is compatible with the Apple CarPlay software available in most late model automobiles. Fans should search for SLU Athletics (Mixlr) or Southeastern Sports Radio Network (MyTuner).

Lance Lauve (0-1, 15.19), a freshman right-hander from Madisonville, Louisiana, takes the ball for SLU against Bulldog graduate left-hander Cade Gibson (1-0, 4.41).

Southeastern is coming off a weekend series at No. 3-ranked Arkansas. The Lions won the opener, 7-3, Friday before dropping a Saturday doubleheader by scores of 4-2 and 11-1 (8 innings) to the Razorbacks.

Evan Keller (.302), Preston Faulkner (.279), Bryce Grizzaffi (.263) and Rhett Rosevear (.256) pace Southeastern at the plate. Faulkner, Rosevear and Tyler Finke lead the squad with four extra-base hits each. Faulkner and Keller have driven in a team-high seven runs while Keller’s seven stolen bases are tops on the team. SLU ranks third nationally in HBPs (33) and 12th in stolen bases (24).

Louisiana Tech is coming off a weekend series in Lake Charles, Louisiana against McNeese. The Bulldogs won the first two games of the series, 21-5 and 11-3, before dropping the finale, 5-2.

Cole McConnell (.390), Taylor Young (.333) and Bryce Wallace (.318) are the Bulldogs’ leading hitters. Young’s nine extra-base hits are tops on the squad and McConnell has driven in a team-high 15 runs. Young is also Louisiana Tech’s top base-stealing threat, having swiped three bags already this season.

Southeastern returns home to host Tennessee Tech (10-0) in a three-game series at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Games are slated for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Single-game tickets are on sale for the remainder of the regular season. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to minimize ticket lines on game days. Southeastern students are encouraged to contact the ticket office prior to the game to reserve theirs in advance.

General admission tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for youth (ages 3-12). Southeastern students, with a university ID, and children under age 2 are admitted free. Gameday parking is $5 per day for standard vehicles and $25 for RVs.

Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. The ticket booth at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field opens exactly one hour prior to the scheduled first pitch.

Southeastern uses mobile ticketing as the primary method for distributing tickets purchased online. Tickets will be available via text message or email in a PDF format for fans to download on their phone or print at home. Tickets can also be downloaded to Apple Wallet.
