William Carey University’s women’s basketball team is headed to the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament that will run from Wednesday, Feb. 23 to Saturday, Feb. 26 at Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala.

Fourth-seeded William Carey will start play on Thursday, Feb. 24 when it faces fifth-seeded Stillman at 9 a.m.

These teams met twice in the regular season with William Carey winning both games, 68-50 at home on Jan. 15 and 59-52 on the road Saturday.

William Carey went 12-10 overall and 8-8 in conference play in the regular season.

The team features two local players in Bowling Green School graduates McKinley Seal and Kyley Seals.

Seal, a 2017 Bowling Green School graduate, is averaging 8.9 points, 6.6 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Seals, a 2020 Bowling Green School graduate, averages 3.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
