Evangelist Fillis Lee Barnes transitioned from her earthly life to eternal life on Feb. 13, 2022, at St Tammany Hospital at the age of 71. She was a native of Mt. Hermon and a resident of Franklinton. She was the oldest daughter of the late Elder Bennie and Oda Mae Lee.

She was employed with Rutter Rex in Franklinton, St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, 1st Thessalonians Community Services in Hammond, and Always TLC d.b.a. All About U in Hammond. Fillis was an excellent companion/caregiver to many families in the Washington, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Livingston and Baton Rouge area parishes. She fulfilled her purpose as God planned.

Cherishing a life of memories and love are her son, Bryan Lee and her daughter Patricia Barnes, of Franklinton; her grandchildren, TSgt. Tihira Lee (U.S. Air Force) of Columbia, Md., Ciera Barnes of Cyprus, Texas, and Shaquille and Daville Barnes of Franklinton; and one great-granddaughter, Avané Lee of Columbia. She also has three bonus grandchildren and five bonus great-grandchildren, all of Hackley. She was the sister of Lorraine Martin, Charles Lee, Martha Lee-Vaughn, Clinton Lee, Cassandra Dangerfield, Carolyn Patterson and Elder Jarvis Lee. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Lisa Lee Cox.

A drive-through viewing will be held at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton on Friday, Feb. 25, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at Faith in the Word Ministry in Franklinton on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jacob Tate II officiating.
