Jerry Wayne Wheat, a native of Poplarville, Miss., and resident of White Sands, Miss., passed away Feb. 9, 2022, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, at the age of 72. Mr. Wheat was in the U.S. Navy for four years.

Mr. Wheat is survived by his sisters, Bernice Thomas of Poplarville, and Barbara Payne of Brookville, Pa.; and his brothers, Henri Billiot of Gilbertown, Ala., and Bobby Billiot of Madisonville,. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Wheat was preceded in death by his father, Alton Clyde Wheat; his mother, Corina Lucas Billiot; and a sister, Gloria Jean Mitchell.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, with Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
