Andreia “Pokey” Nelson, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Feb. 10, 2022.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Travone (Natalie) Nowling and Gerald (Tera) Nelson Jr.; one daughter, Omisha Thrist; one brother, Kevin Jacobs; two sisters, Tameka Johnson and Jashon (Vern) Johnson; four grandchildren, Germani Nelson, Germya Nelson, Nia Berry and Tramaine Thirst; cousins, Richard Badon, Mary Badon, Cynthia (Oliver) Forbes, Michael (Laura) Rankins, Christopher Rankins, Caroline Badon, Jermaine Weary, Jessica McDowell, Precious McDowell, and the extended family of the Jeffersons; special friends, Sandra Lewis, Maria Weary, Shawanda Meyers and Jerry Youngblood; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwina Jacobs and Charles Ray Johnson; and grandparents, Lula Mae Smith and Tyrone Scott, and Charles Ray Johnson and Ora Lee Johnson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa, with Apostle Kendon Grant officiating. Interment will be at Ponemah Cemetery.
