Mrs. Voncile “Bonnie” Sumrall, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, in Covington, at the age of 84. Mrs. Bonnie was a member of Lee’s Creek Baptist Church and an active member in the church choir.

Mrs. Bonnie is survived by her son, John (Kathy) Sumrall Jr. of Bogalusa; a daughter, Laurie (Chuck) Crosby of Bogalusa; a brother, the Rev. Jerry Kennedy of Sheridan; and a sister, Patricia Holmes of Bogalusa. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ally Crosby and Brannan Crosby; and her very special niece, Fran (Benjie) Nevers.

Mrs. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, John Sumrall Sr.; her parents, Monroe and Allie Kennedy; three brothers, Denver, Joe and Elton Kennedy; and a sister, Clara Seals.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 11, at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time for the services at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dennis Allen officiating the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
