On Monday, agents with the Louisiana Division of Probation and Parole were in pursuit of William Brock McCrory, 42, a resident of Carolina Avenue in Bogalusa. When confronted by the agents at a Franklinton business, McCrory fled on foot and was captured by an agent near a fast food establishment, according to Chief Criminal Deputy Mike Haley of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Haley said that detectives with the WPSO Drug Task Force were summoned to the scene, due to narcotics in McCrory’s possession. McCrory’s car, which was in the parking lot when he fled on foot, was searched and detectives discovered a varied assortment of illegal narcotics, including heroin, methamphetamine and two brands of narcotic pills, Haley said.

McCrory was arrested and transported to the Washington Parish Jail. He was booked on four counts of possession with intent to distribute illegal drugs, resisting an officer with force and resisting an officer by flight on foot.

Haley said that McCrory has at least six previous stays in the Washington Parish Jail. In 2017, he was arrested for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested again in 2018 and charged with two counts of possession of illegal drugs with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of illegal drugs, two counts of resisting an officer and several traffic offenses. In 2019, he was arrested on two outstanding warrants and booked into the jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer and traffic offenses.

In November 2020, he was arrested for possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute illegal drugs, distribution of illegal drugs, possession of illegal drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft, resisting an officer, contempt of court and failure to appear in court. A month later, he was arrested for possession of illegal drugs, criminal trespass and four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. His last previous arrest was in January 2022 when he was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary and obstruction of justice. After a two day stay in jail, he was released on a $25,000 bond.

“Mr. McCrory’s lifestyle involving illegal drugs speaks for itself,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “Once again, our officers partnered with another agency to get more illegal drugs out of our community. I am so appreciative of the wonderful Probation and Parole agents who work hard in Washington Parish to monitor persons who are under supervision. They are a great asset to local law enforcement.”
