Mrs. Virginia Gail Sheridan Legendre, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, peacefully at her home. Gail was born on April 11, 1941, in Bogalusa.

Gail had a long-time clerical career in New Orleans where she resided for many years before returning to Bogalusa in 1985. She worked until she retired for Sheridan Construction. While in New Orleans, she married Harold Morgan Legendre in 1984.

Gail always considered her nieces and nephews as her own. Her love for her family was evident in her hobbies of sewing for them, collecting photographs for scrapbooks for each one, and documenting and tracing the family genealogy for future generations.

Gail is survived by her brother-in-law and sister, Edward and Ann Clark; her sister-in-law, Beverly Sheridan; nephews, Jamey (Tammy) Sheridan, Chad (Melissa) Sheridan and Andy (Shannon) Clark; and nieces, Julie Anne Sheridan and Stacie (Giulliano) El Bader. Gail’s great-nephews and great-nieces include Ashley and Brooke Sheridan, Gage and Gabby O’Keefe, Charlie and Willa Clark, and Noah El Bader. Other survivors include stepson, Harold “Harry” Morgan (Patricia) Legendre Jr.; stepdaughter, Pamela Jean Legendre; and step-grandchildren, Rhett and Michele Legendre and William Wayne “Billy” Darby. She is also survived by a special cousin and caregiver, George Sheridan.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Morgan Legendre; her parents, Walter Lee Sheridan and Elsie Henderson Sheridan; brother and sister-in-law, Walter Lee “Toby” Sheridan and Jane Tweedy Sheridan; and brother, Edward Dawson “King” Sheridan.

The family extends their appreciation to caregivers, April Smith and Paula Stewart.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 11 a.m. with Brother Mark Morelock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
