Mr. Marcus Keith Morris was born Oct. 4, 1969, to Mr. Jackie Robinson and the late Ms. Verrian Morris.
Marcus was a very hard worker. He was a friend to many. He was very motivational when you needed it. He knew just what to say to lift you up if you were down. He was one of a kind. Marcus truly will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He joined Timothy Trumpet of Truth Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie Perdue. Marcus and Pastor Perdue developed a strong bond with one another.
Marcus leaves to cherish his memories: his loving, caring and devoted wife, Melissa Morris; his father, Jackie Robinson; two daughters, Markeitha B. Morris and Starday J. Curney; one brother, Derrick Peters; three grandchildren, Kalania Lanae London, Tony L. Roberts III and Amir J. Curney; 11 aunts, Linda Bullock, Annice (Connel) Harris, Joyce, Shelly, Cynthia and Cindy Morris, Claudia Robinson, Clara (Randy) Thompson, Cynthia (Gerry) Mingo, Khaijah (Christian) Davis and Angel (Pastor Nolan) Robinson; nine uncles, William “Spade” (Shelia) Morris, James (Dawn) Morris, Royce (Catherine) Morris, Gilbert Moses, Pastor Linzie (Karen) Cotton, Truly Cotton, Willie (Caprice) Cotton, Bobby and Ronny Paul Cotton; a niece and great-niece, Courtney Forrest and Cherrish Forrest; nephew, Ja’Karvis Curney; a mother-in-law, Irma Curney; sister-in-law, Karen Curney; brother-in-law, Bobby Curney Jr.; special brothers, Brandon (Angela) Morris, Ethon (Denis) Henry, Romel (Cookie) Harris, Derrick May and Kendrick Hall; a special cousin, Shodra Little; a special sister, Lanequia Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marcus was preceded in death by his mother, Verrian Morris; his maternal grandparents, John and Theresa Morris; paternal grandparents, Truly and Viola Cotton, Roscoe Robinson; a special paw-paw, Denman Davis; aunts, Augustine and Betty Morris; and uncles, John Morris Jr. and T.C. Claiborne.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, at noon at Timothy Trumpet of Truth Church, located at 914 Miller Place in Bogalusa. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of the service.
