The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s and women’s track and field teams will send 37 student-athletes, including 21 men and 17 women, to the McNeese Indoor II Invitational Saturday at the Ralph O. Ward Rec Complex, beginning at 8 a.m.

Saturday marks the first full squad indoor meet of the season under SLU head track and field coach Corey Mistretta.

Mistretta, in his fifth year as Southeastern head coach, led the men’s team to the 2020 Southland Indoor Championship and was named 2020 Southland Men’s Indoor Coach of the Year.

“We’ve had some success of late,” said Mistretta. “But this early in the season I don’t want to put any pressure on our guys or girls just yet. I just want to see everyone get their feet wet and let the newcomers compete a few times. McNeese has been doing really well so it will be nice to see how we stack up against them.”

Fans can follow live results of Saturday’s meet with links available at the Southeastern Track and Field schedule page at LionSports.Net.
