Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by St. Helena College and Career Academy and Independence in District 9-2A games that were held on Jan. 18 and Friday.

The Jan. 18 game was a 100-38 loss to St. Helena College and Career Academy on the road.

Dameon Roberts scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked a shot for Varnado.

The game against Independence was 67-54 at home on Friday.

Roberts missed a double-double by just one rebound, going for 15 points and nine boards.

Quanta Peters tallied 14 points, five steals and four rebounds.

Quovadis Bickham tallied seven points and 10 boards.

Varnado’s next game will be on Jan. 25 against Kentwood on the road.
