Varnado’s Lady Cats were defeated by St. Helena College and Career Academy, 45-9, in a District 9-2A game that was held on the road on Tuesday.

Myeasha Peters posted six points to lead Varnado.

JaKyra Daggs recorded two.

Tyriah Daggs had one.

“We played with a skeleton crew due to illnesses, injuries, quarantine and personal/family issues,” Varnado coach Garnet Fornea said. “Our girls that played did not get much of a chance to catch their breath, while the other team continued to substitute players in and out. We had only one girl on the bench, who was in foul trouble. We look forward to getting everyone back onto the floor.”

Varnado’s next game will be on Jan. 21 against Independence in a home contest.
