Authorities have charged one suspect with murder and are looking for another after a triple shooting Tuesday night in Marion County, Miss., left one dead and two injured.

Officials with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported the information in a press release on the agency’s Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to the MCSO, deputies were dispatched at 11:38 p.m. on Tuesday, to report to a shooting incident that took place at 171 Highway 587 in Foxworth, Miss. Deputies arrived to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds, and witnesses told the deputies that two suspects fled the scene on foot.

Deputies arrived to find Hannah Gomez, 21, of Foxworth, who was injured during the shooting. She was transported to a local hospital, and then airlifted to a trauma center in critical condition for treatment. Another victim, Divontay Lashad Davis, was treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Deputies also found an unresponsive woman, identified later as Jada Jefferson, 20, of Foxworth. Jefferson suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased.

MCSO officials said that a responding investigator made contact with Kyndall Carter, 19, of Bogalusa, nearby on foot. Carter matched the description of one of the suspects, and witnesses said that Carter was involved in the shooting. He was placed into custody, and transported to the MCSO to be interviewed.

Carter was later charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault.

Investigators are actively searching for another “person of interest” in connection with the case. They are looking for Jerliyah Keishali Pinestraw of Bogalusa.

The investigation is ongoing and if anyone has any information regarding this incident, or knows the whereabouts of Pinestraw, contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 601-736-5051.

Assisting the MCSO in the response to the shooting were the Hattiesburg (Miss.) Police Department Crime Scene Unit, Columbia (Miss.) Police Department, Marion County Coroner Jesse Graham, the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, AAA Ambulance Service, and the Foxworth Fire Department.
