“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (II Timothy 4:7-8 KJV).

Margaret Rudolph Sartin was born to the late Louis and Lucille Rudolph on April 4, 1939, in Angie.

On Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, Margaret was called home to be with the Lord. At that hour, Margaret entered into eternal rest at her home surrounded by the people she loved the most, her children.

Margaret was educated through the Washington Parish School System. Her constant faith and Christian journey in the Lord began at an early age. Margaret was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Bogalusa, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Tom Bailey Jr. and later became a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Mims.

Margaret retired after 33 years of employment at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center. During her tenure, she worked in the Environmental Services, Radiology, and Physical Therapy Departments.

Margaret was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved meeting and greeting new people. She was a true inspiration to all and will always be remembered for her welcoming spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lucille Rudolph; husband, Charles Sartin; daughter, Auntranette Sartin Roberts; three sisters, Elsie Rudolph Bolton, Clarice Hodges and Helen Mondy; two brothers, Louis Rudolph Jr. and Leon Rudolph; grandchildren, David Sartin Jr. and Zoeronica Thompson; and a very special friend, Nevada Powe Blackburn.

Margaret’s life will forever be cherished in loving memory in the lives of her two daughters, Veronica Williams of Bogalusa, and Lydia (Gerald) Barclay Sr. of Keller, Texas; two sons, Bishop Zorronn Sartin of Bogalusa, and David (Jennie) Sartin of Kentwood; grandchildren, Sarah Roberts and Herman Sartin of Bogalusa, Zerronn Mingo of Angie, Lindsay Williams of Baton Rouge, Gerald Barclay Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Lacey Williams of Slidell, and Julius Tate of Franklinton; a special great-grandchild, Chas Roberts of Sacramento, Calif., whom she participated in a parental role with his upbringing; three brothers-in-law, Lynell (Tonya) Sartin of Gary, Ind., Jerry (Brelane) Wells of Bogalusa, and Roger Wells of Chicago, Ill.; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be at Bogalusa Cemetery on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Mims, pastor, officiating.

Final arrangements were entrusted to the professional staff of Crain and Sons Funeral Home, 809 E. Third St. in Bogalusa. Sign the guestbook online at www.crainandsons.com.
