First Pitch Banquet, Alumni Game set for late January

The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program is set to host its annual First Pitch Banquet and Alumni Game the weekend of Jan. 28-29, head coach Matt Riser announced Friday.

Riser and the Lions will host the First Pitch Banquet, Friday, Jan. 28, at 7 p.m., in the War Memorial Student Union on Southeastern’s campus.

The event includes dinner, a cash bar, silent auction, raffle and a cash drawdown. Individual seats are $100 and reserved tables (eight seats per table) are available for $1000.

In addition to the dinner, silent auction, raffle and drawdown, a senior player will be selected as the keynote speaker. With limited seating available, fans are encouraged to reserve their space as soon as possible.

Banquet tickets are available online at www.southeastern.edu/firstpitch. For further information, contact the Lion Athletics Association at (985) 549-5091 or email laa@southeastern.edu. All proceeds from the event benefit the Southeastern baseball program.

The Lions will also host an alumni game at 11 a.m. the next day (Jan. 29) at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Admission to the scrimmage, which features Southeastern baseball alumni squaring off against the 2022 Lions, is free.

Baseball alumni wishing to participate in the game are asked to RSVP through associate head coach Andrew Gipson at baseball@southeastern.edu or (985) 549-5130.

DIAMOND CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the baseball program are encouraged to join the Diamond Club. Lion baseball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.

All membership fees and donations to both the Diamond Club and S Club (baseball) are available for the exclusive use of the Southeastern baseball program.
